Section 1: Learn more about chargeback alerts
RDR can enabled using the following:
BIN, CAID, and MCC
a Visa ARN Number
Ideally, we have all 4 of these numbers.
Normally RDR takes around 2 weeks to go live. This is determined by Visa, not Disputifier. If you need any RDR enrollments urgently for high-volume merchants, please contact us and we can try to expedite them.
RDR only covers Visa chargebacks and typically covers around 95% of Visa chargebacks.
RDR has 3 separate tiers. Each of these has a vastly different cost. Higher risk MCCs = higher tiers and higher pricing. Here is the full MCC / tier list:
Ethoca can be enabled using your descriptor. We also recommend enrolling any known descriptor variations.
Descriptors can either be matched using "Starts With" (recommended) or "Exact Match".
"Starts With" will improve coverage percentage but there's a small chance it could pick up on chargebacks from unrelated businesses.
We will not enroll any general descriptors that unrelated businesses may be using. For example, we will not enroll a descriptor that says "Online purchase". This is because it will pick up chargebacks from the numerous amount of businesses using "Online purchase" as their descriptor.
Ethoca covers Discover, Visa, and Mastercard chargebacks.
Ethoca alerts normally go live within 1 day.
CDRN can be enabled using your descriptor. We also recommend enrolling any known descriptor variations.

CDRN covers Visa and Mastercard chargebacks. It can also cover AMEX and Discover chargebacks if you provide us with the merchant's AMEX / Discover Merchant ID number.
CDRN alerts normally go live within 1 day. Full coverage may take up to 14 days to activate with some banks.
Normally Ethoca and RDR are sufficient for most high risk merchants. CDRN is often overkill and is the most expensive program.
Normally RDR alone is sufficient for most medium risk merchants.
Coverage for chargeback alerts will be best in US banks, as well as some major European and Canadian banks.
With mostly US sales, RDR alone can stop 40-50% of chargebacks and RDR combined with Ethoca can stop 70-90% of chargebacks.
Section 2: Chargeback alert signup process
Step 1: Add a merchant. In order to sign up a new merchant for alerts, you must first add them to the Disputifier admin. Here's an explainer of each section when adding a merchant:
Store Name - Input DBA, Legal business name, or whatever you use to identify the merchant. Always required.
Store URL - Input the URL of the merchant. Required for representment
Customer ID - Only fill this out if you're billing merchants through the built-in Disputifier Stripe billing.
Billing cap - Only fill this out if you're billing merchants through the built-in Disputifier Stripe billing.
Step 2: Add MID. If you need to add alerts for more than one MID, click the ⊕ icon to add a new MID. If you're only adding alerts to a single MID, use the default MID under each merchant.
Step 3: MID Configuration. Please note that clicking the toggle will NOT enable or disable alerts. You need to click the gear icon to configure each type of alerts that you'd like to enable.

Disabling alerts
Please contact the Disputifier team to cancel / disable alerts for a merchant or MID. Disabling the alert toggle within Disputifier will NOT turn off alerts.
